About Sri Vaikuntanatha Perumal Temple (Uttarakosamangai)
One of the 108 Divya Desams, this temple is famous for the emerald (marakata) Vishnu idol — one of the most beautiful Perumal idols in South India. Vishnu is depicted with all four hands in a standing posture carved entirely from a single emerald-green gemstone. It is considered one of the three "moolavar" (original deity) treasures in the Divya Desam tradition.
