About Uchchi Pillayar Temple (Trichy Rock Fort)

Perched at the very summit of the 83-metre Trichy Rock Fort, this is the highest point of the famous rock fort. The Ganesha shrine here is believed to be the spot where Vibhishana (the righteous brother of Ravana) placed the Ranganathaswamy idol — which then could not be lifted and remained in Srirangam. One of the most spectacular temple views in Tamil Nadu.
