About Srivilliputhur Andal Temple

Birthplace of Andal (Goda Devi), the only woman among the 12 Azhwars, who composed the celebrated Thiruppavai hymns. One of the 108 Divya Desams. The 192-foot (11-tier) gopuram of this temple is the official logo of the Tamil Nadu government. The presiding deity Vatapatrasayee is Vishnu reclining on a banyan leaf.
