About Perur Pateeswarar Temple

An ancient Paadal Petra Sthalams near Coimbatore with a history of over 2000 years. The temple has exceptional Dravidian architecture with outstanding sculptures in the main corridor. Legend says the sage Patanjali wrote the Yoga Sutras here after Shiva performed the Ananda Tandava (dance of bliss). The temple was celebrated by both Sundarar and Tirugnana Sambandar.
