About Nellaiappar Temple

One of the grandest temple complexes in South India, this double-temple enshrines Nellaiappar (Shiva) and Gandhimathi Amman (Parvati) in two interconnected shrines. One of the Pancha Sabhas where Shiva performed the Vethala (Bhumi) dance. The musical pillars in the mantapam produce seven distinct musical notes — the finest in Tamil Nadu.
