A masterpiece of Hoysala architecture (12th century) that took 103 years to complete. Called the Jewel Box of Indian architecture — every inch of the outer wall is covered in star-shaped sculptures of gods, celestial women (shalabajikas), animals and devotional scenes. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
