Oppilappan Koil Sri Vishnu Temple గురించి
One of the 108 Divya Desams near Kumbakonam. The presiding deity Oppilappan is Vishnu who married Bhoomidevi (Earth goddess) here. Uniquely, no salt is offered in the prasadam here in memory of Bhoomidevi who was too young to cook with salt at their wedding. The utsavar (processional deity) wears an unmarried girl's ornaments.
