The largest Saraswati temple in South India, famous for granting academic excellence. Students from across Tamil Nadu visit before exams, during Navratri and on Vijayadasami to receive the goddess's blessings for their studies. On Saraswati Puja day (Navratri 9th day), over five lakh students visit. Books and instruments are placed before the deity for blessings (Ayudha Puja).
