Chengannur Mahadeva Temple-നെ കുറിച്ച്

One of the most extraordinary temples in India — the Bhagavathi (Parvati) deity here is believed to undergo menstruation (Thripputha). When this phenomenon occurs (believed to happen a few times a year), the temple closes for three days, the goddess rests, and the priests perform special rituals. This biological phenomenon associated with the divine feminine makes the temple exceptionally revered among women devotees.
